The 20/20 Awards aims to correct the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with 20 years of hindsight. The new annual event will look back 20 years and correct the short-sightedness of the Academy Awards. This first 20/20 event will be given out to correct the Academy Awards honored in the year 1990: therefore, all films released and distributed in the year 1989 will be under review. Films are voted on by the Voting Syndicate, comprised of individuals in Seattle’s filmmaking community such as Lynn Shelton, John Jeffcoat, Sandy Cioffi, Rick Stevenson and others.
