Seattle Jewish Film Festival
The AJC Seattle Jewish Film Festival (AJC-SJFF) returns for its “Sweet 16” run this Saturday, March 12! The premier public program of the American Jewish Committee Seattle (AJC), the nine-day fest will feature 30 acclaimed international films, with an eye toward “building bridges” of mutual understanding through cinema, in community and across global divides. This year’s AJC-SJFF Reel Difference Award recipient, Eran Riklis (Syrian Bride, Lemon Tree) will kick things off 7:30 pm Saturday at AMC Pacific Place, with an opening night screening event. Riklis will share and discuss his latest work, The Human Resources Manager, as well as his award-winning, bridge-building, border-crossing cinematic landscapes. What’s more, in keeping with the festival’s savory motif, a series of “Sweet Treat” screenings sponsored by local vendors including Holly Levin/The Cake Lady, Top Pot Doughnuts, Central Coop, Trabant Coffee & Chai and Blazing Bagels will be featured throughout AJC-SJFF.
