Rock out to some legendary homegrown tunes and support a wonderful cause this Thurdsay, January 6, at the second annual “Best of Northwest” benefit for Teen Feed. The School of Rock—a performance-based music school for young local artists—will cover songs from some of the Northwest’s most celebrated rockers, including Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Death Cab, The Thermals, David Bazan, The Ventures and more. Proceeds for the concert will go to Teen Feed, a stellar community-based organization devoted to supporting and advocating for Seattle’s homeless youth. DEATH CAB’S BEN GIBBARD TO PLAY BENEFIT CONCERT

Death Cab frontman Ben Gibbard’s playing one for the kids. His November 3 solo show at the Croc is a benefit for Teen Feed, the U-District non-profit that was the beneficiary of this year’s Noise For the Needy Festival, and provides meals for homeless youth. “I believe in the work of Teen Feed,” Gibbard says in a press release. “I wanted to do my part to help raise awareness and money for the organization.” Tickets are now available at the Croc and Sonic Boom.
