Eighteen-year-old Kevin Lee is no ordinary high school musician. Disenchanted with his own orchestral career, he decided to create the Summer Festival Philharmonia, a student-run youth orchestra. The group consists of metropolitan musicians ranging from ages 12 to 19 who volunteer their time and talents to the orchestra because they love the idea of working with a fellow young, creative musician. This weekend, the Philharmonia will perform two concerts, with proceeds going toward a music scholarship named after Lee’s violin teacher, Kent Coleman. The first concert is tonight at 7:30 at the Evangelical Chinese Church of East King County, the second is on Sunday at 7:30 in the same place.
