The limelight strikes one of Seattle’s very own musical prodigies yet again. Just one month after stealing the Showbox stage for the first time, Hot Bodies in Motion will be heard on an even bigger platform. Lionsgate Entertainment has commissioned Hot Bodies in Motion to create and record an original song for their soon-to-be released film Abduction. The four-man band was sent into a recording studio for three days and emerged touting an original cinematic piece that will be used in the movie. MACKLEMORE AND RYAN LEWIS SELL OUT SHOWBOX IN 48 HOURS
Sound on the Sound
A couple days ago, The Showbox announced that locals Macklemore and Ryan Lewis would have top billing at a February 25 show–the duo’s first headlining gig. An early round of tickets was released, but the show sold-out in less than 48 hours, before tickets were even “officially” on sale. The last local bands to sell out the Showbox in that short amount of time? Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Death Cab for Cutie. So congrats to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for joining that elite set of musical acts in this city capable of selling out one of the biggest rooms in Seattle, and here’s to hoping they book a second night!

Rolling Stone
In May, Pearl Jam played a secret show at Seattle’s Showbox in anticipation of their new album Backspacer. Now, the result of that surreptitious concert has been revealed in the Cameron Crowe-directed video for the new LP’s first single “The Fixer.” Another track off the LP, “Supersonic,” leaked out this weekend as fans began receiving the 7′’ inch single for “The Fixer,” which boasted “Supersonic” as its B side.
