Seattle Times’ Andrew Matson celebrates the impact and diversity of Renton high school on Seattle’s 2009 hip hop resurgence. He writes “ Interesting that one class of students could produce 10-4 Roger’s cartoony, dubby synth-rap, THEESatisfaction’s weird/dark art project, and also Dyme Def’s famous-sounding club bangers. The difference in approach to hiphop between songs like [THEESatisfaction’s] “Cabin Fever” and, say, [Dyme Def’s] “Pickupyaflow” is truly vast.”
