Kyla Fairchild is the publisher of NoDepression.com, the Seattle-based site about roots and Americana music, which survived the popular No Depression music magazine. In an interview with TechFlash, Fairchild discusses the site and its evolving involvement in the relationship between artists, those in the music industry and fans. Of NoDepression’s readers, Fairchild writes, “Now they have this knowledgeable, trustworthy group of their peers to get information from. They used the magazine for that, too, but now they might have a particular blogger, or commenter that they relate to, and really like, so they’ll check out an artist based on that person’s recommendation. It’s also a lot broader, and there is great coverage about lots of artists that never would have showed up in the magazine.” Read the full interview at the link above.
