Born in Redmond and raised in Sultan, 26-year-old singer-songwriter Megan Munroe is a country girl at heart. “One More Broken String,” her first album on a nationally distributed label, includes a slew of great songs: the wistful “Pennies in the Ocean,” the feisty “Leavin’ Memphis” and the deeply reflective “Nothing Is Easy.” While in her late teens, Munroe moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music and acting, but ended up back in the Northwest — playing fairs, festivals and the Tractor Tavern — before moving to Nashville. She calls her new album “a great leap forward” in musicianship and songwriting.
