Northwest Film Forum
The Northwest Film Forum has announced its opening night film for the 2009 Local Sightings Film Festival: The Mountain, The River and The Road, directed by Michael Harring. In the film, failing post-college writer Jeff (Justin Rice) finds love and himself, stranded in a small town after a botched road trip. The film also stars Tipper Newton (Hannah Takes the Stairs) and Joe Swanberg (Nights and Weekends, LOL). Also announced is the 2009 panel of jurors including Rob Nelson (critic, Film Comment, Variety, Village Voice), Vanessa Renwick (Portland film and video installation artist) and Barry Jenkins (director, Medicine for Melancholy).
