HOOTENANNY FOR A HEALTHY GULF

The Gulf of Mexico is a mess right now. Environmentally, economically, emotionally, the area has been ravaged by the BP Oil Spill. To show their support of the Gulf region and aid in its recovery, musicians Duff McKagan, Mike McCready, Star Anna, Ty Bailie, Justin Davis, Tim DiJulio, Chris and Rick Friel, Mark Pickerel, Jeff Rouse, Kim Virant, Kristen Ward, Gary Westlake and friends will unite for an extraordinary evening of music on September 2. A special appearance will be made by Edgar Hansen and Matt Bradley from the crab vessel, The Northwestern. They will talk about their experience viewing the disaster and the current condition the Gulf. Hootenanny For A Healthy Gulf will include a silent auction, raffle and audience sing-a-long. NO DEPRESSION RECAP
Seattle Times
The No Depression Festival made its case as one of the best festivals of the summer this past Saturday at Marymoor Park, and this is only its first year. The daylong rootsy Americana fest provided the perfect soundtrack for a beautiful day in Redmond. Highlights included the psychedelic alt.country of Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter, the Seattle Roots Music All-Stars (featuring Kristen Ward, Star Anna, Mark Pickerel, 1/3 of The Maldives, Serah Cahoone, members of North Twin and a few others), Justin Townes Earle and many more.
