West Seattle has its own community orchestra – and starting this Tuesday, it’s welcoming interested local musicians to join in for a new season. Westside Symphonette announces two new conductors, a new orchestra and three new string coaches. The new orchestra is for youth and adult beginning string players, which has been made possible by a grant from the Wallace Foundation. The 2009-2010 season begins September 15, meeting at Chief Sealth High School in the Boren Building. Openings are available for every orchestral instrument; click the above link for more audition information.
