Seattle Filmmaker Sandy Cioffi and her crew will take part in a concert event tonight, “Raise It! Sweet Crude Freedom Mix Benefit Concert: Celebrating One Year Free.” Last year, Cioffi and four of her crew were taken into custody in Nigeria during production of “Sweet Crude,” a documentary about Nigeria’s Niger Delta and the effect of 50 years of oil extraction on its people. Tonight’s concert will feature musicians playing covers of the songs Cioffi and the others listened to on an iPod during the truck ride to jail in the custody of the Nigerian State Security Services. You can see the show twice tonight, at 6 and 9 pm at the Triple Door.
