Don’t be alarmed. The nation’s largest film festival opens for us viewers on May 21 and runs through June 14. Already, you can buy passes from SIFF on its Web site. But the Seattle International Film Festival has already begun for directors participating in its Fly Filmmaking Challenge. This week, three locals began work on their four-day shoots: Laura Jean Cronin, Bao Tran, and Shawn Telford. Additionally, Shannon Hart-Reed is filming a documentary about the process.
