TreeStory
TreeStory is an innovative film with an ambitious plan to reconnect people to nature in a new way. Seattle filmmaker Ward Serrill has high hopes for the film’s impact and employs a timeless form of activism: story-telling. TreeStory is a film saturated with heroic tales from around the world that will inspire activism by making it personal, exploring the dramatic changes that can happen to people thanks to an experience with one important tree in their life. Moving beyond seeing trees as resources, the film will pose the question, “what is a tree and what does it have to do with me?” Ward Serrill’s last feature, The Heart of the Game, about a girl’s basketball team was a surprise hit that got picked up by Miramax and experienced great successes. Andy Shilabear the award winning cinematographer of the Planet Earth series is working on the project, capturing the aesthetic beauty of the forest friends. With funding from Kickstarter the production team will complete the critical research and development phase of the project.
