Experience Hendrix has announced 11 bootleg concert recordings and studio instrumental compilations previously issued on Dagger Records are available as digital downloads for the first time. The releases include seven concerts — including Live at the Oakland Coliseum and Live at the Isle of Fehmarn — plus four albums worth of studio recordings that find Hendrix demoing the songs that would later appear on posthumous albums First Rays of the New Rising Sun and Valleys of Neptune. Every song on every bootleg is offered up in high resolution 320kbps MP3 format. Dagger Records was, in part, established by Experience Hendrix to combat unofficial recordings that flooded the bootleg market and overcharged fans of Hendrix’s music. Hendrix’s daughter, Janie, explains, “It really made no sense [considering] that we have a whole vault full of Jimi Hendrix material to not make much of it available to enthusiasts on our own terms in a transparent way.”
