If you haven’t heard Seattle’s Perfume Genius’ hit “Mr. Peterson” off his album, Learning, get on it! The ballad has garnered loads of attention and was featured as a best track on Pitchfork. Now the hipster must-read has issued an entire album review for Learning. “The songs on Hadreas’ [Perfume Genius’] full-length debut are eviscerating and naked, with heartbreaking sentiments and bruised characterizations delivered in a voice that ranges from an ethereal croon to a slightly cracked warble,” the article elucidates. The review feels a lot like the album: gentle, soothing, sweet and somehow raw with emotion. Definitely check out the article at the above link, and be sure to give a listen to Learning.
