Raindrop Hustla
What separates the Seattle music community, especially our local hip-hopers is just that: Community. As illustrated in Lynn Shelton’s “$5 Cover,” Seattle bands go to local shows, share members, spring surprise collaborations on stage, help shoot videos, have five different side projects going on simultaneously, tour together and much more. The Seattle music community proves that inbreeding in a musical sense can be a positive thing. If you haven’t heard all the hype about Macklemore and Ryan Lewis lately then you have been living under a rock the size of (something quite large). The duo has amped up an old track formally known as “Air Jordans” with some incredible production creativity. The track features Denny Middle School’s choir with a chorus written by local home-girl Hollis Wong-Wear of Canary Sing and new project The Heartfelts. Check out Wongweezy’s new EP here and click the link above and enjoy the sweet sounds of Seattle hipster-hop at its finest.
