Seattle Times:
Here we have the two men responsible for this spring’s two most anticipated Seattle albums sitting at a cramped booth at the Athenian Inn at Pike Place. Friday afternoon’s regulars bustle around Eric Elbogen of Say Hi — 32 years old, scruffy, dark-eyed and dark-haired; and Ben Verdoes of Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band — 27, scruffy, blue-eyed and blond. Shortcutting would propose they’re oppositional figures, light and dark captains of rival indie-rock squads battling for attention in the city’s crowded music scene. Conversation over bottomless Coca-Colas reveals they might be on the same team.
