Nordic Heritage Museum
If you are looking to whet your appetite for Scandinavian cuisine, culture and chamber music, look no further than the Nordic Heritage Museum’s Mostly Nordic Chamber Music Series and Smörgåsbord. For those unfamiliar with fine Scandinavian fare, a smörgåsbord is a delicious feast of open faced sandwiches and other culinary delights beautifully displayed and served buffet style. The Chamber Music Series consists of five Sunday afternoon chamber music concerts featuring the music of Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland & Sweden. A smörgåsbord follows the performance and will feature gourmet delicacies from the featured country’s traditional menu. The series launches this Sunday February 13, with the music of Norway, featuring Norwegian pianist Knut Erik Jensen, violinist Svend Rønning, and soprano Laura Loge. Had a fabulous family trip to Scandinavia last June, and will be in Seattle the middle of July. Any special events scheduled around then? Also, I am a professional singer and learning some classical Scandinavian songs. Would love to meet you all! (and my sister and niece are harpists in the Seattle/Wenatchee area!)
