Washington Filmworks
The legislation to renew and extend Washington’s film incentive program just made it through preliminary review hearings in both the Senate and House! After a slight scaling-down of proposed fund ceilings, both HR 1554 and SB 5539 are off to the Ways and Means committees in both chambers of the state legistlature. To help drum up the support needed to get the bills past this next crucial step, Washington Filmworks has organized “Film Day in Olympia” on Wednesday, February 23, 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The event is in need of volunteers to meet with legislators and share how the incentive program impacts the lives of Washington state cast and crew. If you are available and willing to help in this effort, please send an email to Info@WashingtonFilmWorks.org with the subject line, ” Film Day in Olympia.” Be sure to include your name, affiliation with the industry, your address and/or your Legislative District number (to find out who your elected officials are click here) in the body of your email, and Filmworks will follow up with detailed instructions. You can also click the above link to download the “Film Day” info packet.
