How to Train Your Dragon had $43.3 million opening weekend and a No. 1 debut, according to studio estimates Sunday. Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders, the team that created Disney’s hit Lilo & Stitch, are back with a DreamWorks feature about a nonconformist Viking teenager, Hiccup, who befriends rather than slays a dragon. DeBlois was born near Ottawa but bought a house on Queen Anne two years ago. “The Pacific Northwest is definitely my preferred place to work from,” said DeBlois, who regularly commutes to Los Angeles.
