The Hidmo Community Empowerment Project is looking for a few motivated young people. The internship is geared towards middle school and high school students who are interested in community activism, grassroots organizing, marketing and outreach, event planning, or working to support and promote local and/or independent art. They are looking for two outreach & marketing interns to work 10hrs per week from January 2010 until June 2010. Interns will work independently and with staff to help ensure the success of Hidmo entertainment and community engagement programs. Upcoming programs that interns will help to do outreach for include, MLK Weekend hip-hop show featuring Binary Star, Massive Monkees, D.Black, Canary Sing with DJ Mark Sense and host Vitamin D; community forum on the State of Youth in the Central District; Hidmo Central District Media Justice Campaign; general HCEP & Hidmo meetings and events.
