Seattle PI:
The Hard Rock Cafe planned for downtown Seattle will open in July as scheduled, despite economic conditions, Hard Rock International said Monday. The cafe will feature the chain’s signature rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia, including items from Seattle musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Audioslave, Alice in Chains, Heart, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, the company said. “Seattle truly is a city of music – always has been, going back to the ’20s and ’30s, had a roaring jazz scene, ’70s – rock ‘n’ roll, ’90s – we all know what happened with grunge rock,” Seattle’s Convention and Visitors Bureau spokesman David Blandford said Monday. “If any city in the world deserves a Hard Rock Cafe, I think Seattle does.”
