Seattle PI:
The Kindle, as of late Tuesday evening, became no longer just a gadget, but an emerging brand — a new way to read books. Amazon.com Inc. introduced a “Kindle” application for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch that would allow users to view electronic books on their smart phones and digital music players. The application is available for free from Apple’s App Store. It comes with software, called Whispersync, that syncs with Kindle devices to preserve bookmarks. By using the application, iPhone and iPod touch users can download and buy electronic books, magazines and newspapers that were already available on the Kindle.
